Two Port Adelaide stars are training the house down in the US during the AFL’s off season, with one taking a cheeky dig at a rival club over a controversial incident.

Port Adelaide star Travis Boak has poked fun at rival club North Melbourne while training in the US this off season with young gun Jason Horne-Francis.

Horne-Francis famously left the Roos for Port Adelaide at the end of the 2022 season, with the Christies Beach product reportedly unhappy at the Melbourne club and requesting a trade back to South Australia.

A centre-point of the disharmony between the 20-year-old and his former club was his reported refusal to undertake an ice bath after a match.

Boak, 35, is known for his vigorous off season training regimes and this year recruited Horne-Francis to work out at the Red Bull Athlete Performance Centre in Santa Monica, California.

The former Port Adelaide captain posted several stories of the pair training on Instagram, including one with Horne-Francis submerged in cold water at the facility with the caption “and loves an ice bath”.

The story was a lighthearted jab at the Roos and will no doubt set the scene for a spicy encounter when the two clubs meet in 2024.
