Port Adelaide defender Aliir Aliir has welcomed his second child, a baby boy.
The Power star and his partner, Sabina Wheatley, shared the joyous news this evening in a joint Instagram post, revealing the bub arrived on Tuesday.
“Our baby boy has arrived,” they captioned the series of happy snaps, which included a photo of their two-year-old son, Mayom, giving his new brother a gentle kiss.
The name of the new addition to their family has yet to be announced.
The couple were soon inundated with congratulations from friends including Aliir’s teammate Ivan Soldo, and the partners of fellow players including Brya Waghorn (Sam Powell-Pepper), Isabella Cavallaro (Jason Horne-Francis), Bel Gray (Robbie Gray), and Maisie Packer (Connor Rozee).
In March last year, Aliir told The Advertiser that becoming a dad to Mayom as the best thing to happen to him.
“It’s been such a blessing,” he said.
“There’s times where you get two, three hours sleep but you wake up and you’ve just got him in his hand, and it feels like you’ve slept for nine hours.
“They’re the reason I do what I do.”
Aliir, 30, has played 92 matches for Port Adelaide since being traded from Sydney after the 2020 AFL season.
