The world has been waiting to hear what Usain Bolt thinks of Aussie sensation Gout Gout and the sprint god has not disappointed.
The Jamaican legend has dropped a bonkers five-word statement, telling fans, “He looks like young me” — when asked to share his thoughts on the 16-year-old.
Gout is the talk of the athletics world after he wrote himself into the records books in breaking Peter Norman’s iconic, 56-year 200m Australian record on Saturday at the All School Championships.

In breaking Norman’s record from the 1968 Olympics, Gout’s time of 20.04 seconds also went close to eclipsing American Erriyon Knighton’s record for the fastest 200m ever run by an athlete under the age of 18 — a 19.84 seconds time set in 2021.
Gout’s time bumped Bolt’s own previous record of 20.13 seconds down to third spot for athletes under the age of 18.
Gout’s stunning 100m heat on Friday of 10.04 was wiped out of the official record books because of the tail wind of 3.4m/s.
However, seeing Gout in full flight had many making the same comparison to Bolt.
It’s why the stamp of approval from the eight-time Olympic gold medallist means so much.
Gout replied to Bolt’s post on Instagram with a fire emoji and reposted it to his own stories.
Gout still has a long way to come — and he knows it.
Bolt’s 2009 record 200m run of 19.19 seconds remains the benchmark the world is chasing.
His immortal 100m record of 9.58 seconds in the same year may never be broken — but some are saying Gout is the man most likely to challenge that feat.
English athletics commentator Daniel Hussey posted on X: “Gout Gout now doing it in the 200m. 20.04 seconds at the age of 16. We are witnessing history”.
Hussey earlier said about Gout’s 100m run: “Absolutely outrageous from Gout Gout.
“10.04 at the age of 16. Speechless.”
Commentator Mitch Dyer was also losing his mind in the commentary booth when calling the 200m run on Saturday.
“He is Gout of this world, 20.04, that is not human,” Dyer said before the adjustment.
“That is ridiculous.”
Gout also pointed to his name, saying: “Remember it.”
Gout doesn’t turn 17 until late December.
Speaking with media after the run Gout was chuffed to write his name into Australian athletics history.
“It’s definitely great,” he said of breaking the 56-year mark. “I’ve been chasing that record but I didn’t think it would come this year. I thought maybe it would happen next year or the year after, so to get it now is definitely a great achievement for sure.
“It’s pretty crazy (breaking Australia’s longest held athletics record). Right now, I can’t really process it but tonight when I got home to bed and think about it, it’ll be pretty crazy for sure.”
Gout said that when he puts his mind to something, “if I’ve said something and it’s on my mind, I’m pursuing it until I get it”.
As for how he’s going to celebrate? “I just go home and sleep — I eat food and I just chill with my friends and my family.”
The year 11 student also revealed he would be heading to the US in January to train with Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles and his coach Lance Brauman in a bid to qualify for the Tokyo World Championships.
Then attention will begin to turn towards the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and even the dream of competing in a home Olympics in Brisbane in 2032.
