Coverage of the hotly anticipated basketball semi-final between Australia and the United States has left a lot to be desired according to frustrated fans.

Viewers were notably peeved at a camera angle in the first quarter remaining unchanged for a prolonged period, taking to Twitter to complain.

As Australia gained early dominance on the court, viewers were forced to watch for several minutes from a camera positioned at eye-level at the end of the court.

“Channel 7 really giving the experience of being there (one angle, too far away to really tell what’s going on),” one person tweeted.

Someone else described the unpleasant viewing experience as “disgusting”.

“This basketball camera angle is disgusting pls fix,” they wrote, tagging Channel 7.

“It’s USA vs Australia in the basketball semi finals and I reckon the person in the control room went and took a piss or something because it was stuck on the same camera angle for like 10 minutes of play,” another said.

Others kept their complaint quaint, writing, “hate this camera view” and “What is this camera angle?”

“Sad the skateboarder cameraman was taken out and he was rostered on to the basketball,” someone else said.

“Why do the Olympic broadcasters continue to persist in butchering the sports by forcing us to watch from funky camera angles?” another wrote.

Australia was in a strong position heading into half time, but the US made up a significant margin to close the second quarter on 42 to Australia’s 45.
