Every club is being asked whether they want Lachlan Galvin when he leaves the Wests Tigers but Manly have someone else in mind for a halves role.

Manly coach Anthony Seibold is contemplating looking internally to restructure his halves combination in 2025, including at Tom Trbojevic uninterested in Lachlan Galvin despite sharing a manager.
Wantaway Wests Tigers playmaker Galvin won’t be headed to Brookvale in 2027 with the Sea Eagles needing to fill a gap in 2026 when Sea Eagles veteran halfback Daly Cherry-Evans moves on.
Luke Brooks, an ex-Tiger himself looms as the man to wear the No.7 jersey next season with Seibold pondering just who could be his partner.
“We’ve had a couple casual conversations around it, but he’s (Trbojevic) someone who we could potentially go to,” Seibold said.
“Do we move him to six, which he’s open to? Or do we go into the marketplace to get an experienced halfback?
“If the club thinks it’s the best interest for him to play six, he would play six.
“My preference is to keep is to keep ‘Turbo’ at fullback.”
Recent history has showed a wealth of star players moving from fullback to five-eight, including Greg Inglis, Darren Lockyer and more recently Cameron Munster. Trbojevic could be next.
But Seibold also said his own stock of emerging teenagers were being developed and 19-year-old Galvin would have to look elsewhere for his next club having confirmed his exit from the Tigers, which could come earlier than the end of his current contract.
“He (Galvin) is not available until 2027. We have a couple of really good young halves that we’re going to bring through here. We’ve got a plan in place for the next couple of years.
“Lachlan is 19. We’ve got some really good kids here who are 17 and 18, like Joe Welsh.”
Manly will be looking to snap a snap a two-game losing streak, which included leaking 48 points against Melbourne and then falling 24-16 to Cronulla, when they take on St George Illawarra this weekend.
