The Daly Cherry-Evans saga has now reached state parliament with Member for Manly, James Griffin, calling for Manly’s famous Corso to be renamed the Daly Cherry-Evans Corso.
Speaking tongue-in-cheek in state parliament on Wednesday, Griffin said: “Speaker, I give notice that on the next sitting day I shall move that this house, one, considers renaming the Manly Corso to the Daly Cherry-Evans Corso.
“Two, notes the love for Daly from the Manly Sea Eagles fans.
“And, three, calls on the hill at Brookie to show Daly some love, regardless of his decision on his playing future.”
Calls of “hear, hear” and laughter could be heard in the background.
Controversially, Cherry-Evans will quit Manly after this season.
