Who starred and who struggled in Sydney Roosters 14-6 win over Melbourne Storm

Some of the Roosters brightest stars shone when it mattered most and they stood up to be counted in the 14-6 win over Melbourne in the preliminary final. Find out who starred in our player ratings.

The Roosters are so close to back to back premierships they can practically taste it.

In a physical and desperate 14-6 win over the Storm, the Tricolours kept their quest for history alive and ended Melbourne’s chances of avenging last year’s grand final defeat.

Set up the first try of the match with a stunning leap.

Worked his way into the match. Solid not spectacular.

Defensively brilliant and troubled the Storm in attack.

Outstanding in defence. Solid in attack.

Kicked well and schemed his side into a GF.

Did his job. High work rate.

A tackling machine who held the middle.

Doesn’t lose points for missing with his right hook.

Workhorse performance cut short by HIA.

13) Victor Radley: 7

A workhorse in defence and attack.

14) Angus Crichton: 7.5

Brilliant off the bench. Split the Storm and hit hard.

15) Zane Tetevano: 6.5

Did nothing wrong in his 26 minutes.

16) Nat Butcher: 6.5

Ten runs for 74m. Solid.

Didn’t see a lot of game time.

Always a threat and ran for over 200m.

Plenty of hard work rucking the ball.

Ran for plenty of meters and was a threat.

Few chances for the fastest man in rugby league.

Tried to spark the Storm but shut down.

Poor kicking game was costly.

A strong performance as per usual.
