There’s been a leadership change in Canberra with star hooker Josh Hodgson to join veteran centre Jarrod Croker as Raiders captain.
Croker was appointed captain in 2015 and Hodgson has filled in as skipper on several occasions in the last few seasons.
The two will share the role in 2019 after Hodgson captained the side in the Raiders final seven matches this year.
“Ricky and I have been discussing for a while a way we can strengthen the leadership in the team and we’ve decided to have Josh Hodgson join me as Captain of the club,” Croker said in an Instagram post on Thursday.
“Having two Captains gives us the chance to take the team to the next level and we know Josh is an experienced and passionate club man who will give his all to the role.
“For me it’s the opportunity to grow as a leader and I could not have anyone better suited to stand beside me than Hodgo.
“I can’t wait to get the season started and I know the squad has been working during the first part of the pre-season.”
With 230 NRL matches to his name, Croker is Canberra’s most experienced player and is the fourth most capped player in Raiders history.
