AIDAN Sezer has emerged as a shock contender to fix Canberra’s hooker dilemma.
The Telegraph has learned Sezer is set to play periods of the Raiders first official trial match of 2018 at hooker against Canterbury on the Sunshine Coast tonight.
The Raiders will rotate Sezer and new recruit Siliva Havili at hooker as they attempt to cover the crushing loss to injury of Josh Hodgson.
Hodgson suffered a torn ACL in the World Cup and isn’t due back until the final rounds of the season.
Sam Williams, who returns to the Green Machine after a season with Wakefield, will play in the halves alongside partner Blake Austin — at the point of which Sezer moves to hooker.
Williams’ steady play and astute kicking game will benefit Austin, who will be allowed to play his free-spirited style of footy.
