NORTH Sydney coach Shane Millard says he’s told Robbie Farah he should finish his stellar career in England.

Farah has spent the majority of the season with the Bears in the NSW Intrust Super Premiership after the emergence of Damien Cook at Souths as a consistent NRL player.

Despite the demotion, Millard says the former Test and Origin star has handled himself with class at Norths.

He believes the former Tigers captain still has plenty to offer and has personally suggested Farah add England to his resume.

Millard spent nine seasons in the Super League with four clubs and says Farah, who is off-contract, would thoroughly enjoy the experience.

“It’s up to Robbie what he does, but I think England would be a great option for him,” Millard said.

“I’ve briefly spoken to him about the opportunity to get over there next year and if I can help him anyway.

“Robbie has got a lot going on. He has set himself up away from football through business, but I highly recommend England to anyone if they get the opportunity to get over there.

“I was lucky that I only had my wife and no kids at the time, so we got to travel the world.

“Then the second time I went over I had kids and they got to experience the different culture as well.”

Millard says Farah has the ability to play next season, but stressed his mind must be willing to push through another campaign.

“The hardest thing when you get to Robbie’s age is the motivation to keep training,” he said.

“The games are the fun part, but the way they train these days it’s a tough slog.

“To stay motivated to train the way you need to train to be ready for a game on Sunday — that is the hardest part both physically and mentally.”

Farah has experienced no mental struggles with Norths this season, according to Millard.

He says the proud Lebanon captain has been a standout for the Bears on and off the field.

“Robbie has been outstanding,” he said. “I can’t speak more highly of what he has done because it is tough, but he comes to training with a great attitude.

“All the young boys have really enjoyed playing alongside him. He has also been great for me as well with my coaching.”
