Penrith Panthers firm for signature of Origin hopeful Kurt Capewell
Chasing an Origin debut, Cronulla utility Kurt Capewell is hunting an NRL club that can gift him his opportunity, with Penrith coming to the table in the hope of landing his services.

Penrith have tabled a two-year deal to former Cronulla utility Kurt Capewell.
A member of the Queensland Maroons extended squad this year, Capewell has been squeezed out of the Sharks due to salary cap restraints.
St George-Illawarra are also eager to lure Capewell with the back-rower weighing up the interest of both clubs.

The 26-year-old, who resides in the Sutherland Shire, must decide whether to commute to Wollongong, or Penrith.
However, he would be willing to move to Penrith, if the deal is the right one.
The Charleville junior wants to break into the Maroons Origin side in 2020 and the Panthers believe they have the playing roster and coaching staff to aid his chances.
A valuable recruit for any club, Capewell has shown in his four seasons at the Sharks that he has the ability to play wing, centre, in the forwards or from the bench.
He played 25 matches for the Sharks in 2019.
Ironically, from a list of players yet to find a club for next season, Penrith legend Mark Geyer recently rated Capewell as the most valuable recruit on the open market.
