AS we head towards Round 15 Dave ‘VK’ Von Kotze takes a look at the men pulling big numbers but low ownership.
It’s SuperCoach POD watch.
1. Tyrone Peachey (3.1 per cent ownership/$382,100)
Panthers and Sharks players become very relevant now having both completed their byes for the season. Peachey is the POD of choice from the Panthers with dual 2RF/5/8 position flexibility, a five-game average of 76 and the ability to go large on any given day regardless of the opposition.
2. Luke Lewis (1.8 per cent ownership/$313,400)
Lewis only has a three-game average of 41 but he is another who has a high ceiling sitting with a top score for the year of 112, albeit against the Knights. Lewis went on a streak around this time last year and if Wade Graham and Jack Bird happen to be off in round 18, along with Paul Gallen, Andrew Fifita and James Maloney, then he could be called upon to step up and play a bigger role for the Sharkies. Lewis has a break-even of 83 and is only available at 2RF which could limit his appeal.
3. Bodene Thompson (1.6 per cent ownership/$391,600)
The streak has continued for Bodene Thompson scoring 80 against the Roosters to give his five-game average a nice little bump to 73. Thompson’s price will climb to over $403,000 this week but the Warriors have won three in a row and his score in round 15 didn’t include any tries, try assists or last touch stats.
4. John Sutton (0.5 per cent ownership/$329,500)
Sutton may be an option for those who are low on trades and looking to build a squad with flexibility for the run home once Origin is done and dusted. Sutton also offers dual 2RF/5/8 versatility and could be used in conjunction with Bryce Cartwright or Tyrone Peachey who offer the same versatility, however, he has only played two games so far this year and will have a high break-even this week but possibly one to keep an eye on post Origin if his price is right.

5. Valentine Holmes (12.7 per cent ownership/$359,600)
Another one of the Sharkies who will play every game from here until the end of the season and with a season high score of 131, there’s no questioning his ability as a SuperCoach prospect, especially in an in-form team that is sitting in the top four. Holmes has a five-game average of 62 but a break-even of 97 so there is an 88 per cent chance according to SuperCoach Gold that he will drop in price after round sixteen.
6. Jake Trbojevic (12.4 per cent ownership/$406,000)
JTurbo has played the full 80 in his past four games for the Sea Eagles and averaged 75 in the process prior to any updates rolling in for Monday’s game against the Titans. He will be reasonably expensive prior to next round coming with a price tag of around $423,000 if he holds on to his current score, but with a season average of 69, he appears to be worth every cent. Trbojevic and the remainder of the Sea Eagles will have their final bye in round eighteen.
7. Issac Luke (4.8 per cent ownership/$354,000)
As expected, the Warriors have fired up as they usually do this time of year and Luke has been one of the driving forces behind a three-game winning streak. Luke’s price will be just shy of $390,000 this round after averaging 83 in his past three games and 92 in the last two where he has played the full 80.
8. Cody Walker (8.8 per cent ownership/$379,400)
Walker’s on, I repeat Walker’s on … absolute fire, averaging 77 in his past five appearances for the team from Redfern. At around $410,000 those who don’t own him will more than likely pass considering James Tedesco and Anthony Milford are knocking around for $386,200 and $372,100 respectively.
9. Kevin Naiqama (6.8 per cent ownership/$316,500)
Naiqama has been getting it done for 6.8 per cent of SuperCoaches sitting with a five-game average of 72 but also a season average of 61. Naiqama has a break-even of 0, will cover round 18 but will not be available for round 19 so potential owners will need to ensure that they can cover him during this important round.
10. Ryan James (9.6 per cent ownership/$454,400)
The sleeping giant that is Ryan James has awoken in 2016 and is in career best form. After round fifteen is squared away, James will be the highest scoring FRF in the competition leading Jesse Bromwich by 57 points prior to final updates and he will sit second overall 25 points behind Anthony Milford. If he holds onto his current score of 118, James will be valued at over $500,000 next round after cracking the ton to beat his break-even of 22 by 96 points to secure a $50,000 price rise.
