MILFORD finally fails, money-maker Matthews rewards brave owners and Gillett fires back to form, it’s all in Dave Von Kotze’s SuperCoach wrap.

Adam Reynolds (96) – did his quest to become the first Blues halfback from the Bunnies in forty five years no harm whatsoever taking out Perfect Eight with three try assists, 22 tackles and 38 points from goals and forced drop outs

Will Matthews (63) – soured the trade of many potential owners when he was relegated to the bench but those who held faith were rewarded with a 64 minute performance that was capped off brilliantly when he jagged a late try with a line break to go nicely with his 31 tackles. Matthews is expected to surge in price by more than $32,000 next week and will be valued at around $242,000.

Euan Aitken (76) – didn’t disappoint as one of the leading trade-in targets for the week setting up a try late in the game for Will Matthews. SuperCoaches who made the choice to bring in Aitken for Oates will enjoy a positive swing of over $80,000 to their team’s value this week with Aitken’s price heading $40,000 in the right direction.

Sam Burgess (64) – over 17 per cent of the SuperCoach population gave Burgess the orange captain’s armband but he was unable to match the form over the past fortnight that has seen him average 96. He still made 36 tackles, 16 hit ups, a line break assist from an offload and he came ever so close to pouncing on an Adam Reynolds kick for a 17-pointer.

Greg Inglis (81) – has been getting around the park recently with a new spring in his step and put his ball playing skills on display with two try assists which included line break assists. Those who jumped on GI when he bottomed out at $292,300 after round seven will continue to build their team’s value nicely with another $37,000 price rise expected this week leaving him with a price tag of nearly $390,000 and a four game average of 79.

Jake Marketo (62) – played 80 minutes and scored a try with a line-break on the left edge off a Mitch Rein (62) short-ball. Joel Thompson will return for the Dragons next week but if Marketo holds his spot, he will have a negative breakeven and a price tag of $157,000 if he keeps this score.

Matt Gillett (112) – burst back into some SuperCoach form after averaging just 43 in his last three games. Gillett cracked the ton after making 37 tackles, 4 tackle busts as well as bagging a double with both tries including line breaks.

Jason Taumalolo (71) – broke the line to bolster his score by an extra ten points but put up a very respectable base stat performance with 16 hit ups in which he busted 4 tackles and 28 tackles.

Jake Granville (61) – played the full-eighty when Rory Kostjasyn was a late omission due to a neck injury suffered last weekend. Set up the first try of the match for Matt Scott (74) and will stay at exactly the same price next week of $286,100 after hitting smack-bang on his 61 breakeven.

Johnathan Thurston (65) – wasn’t able to post any try assists but was all class on his 250th game. Thurston scored 23 off the boot from goals, forced drop outs and a match winning field goal to compliment his 2 effective offloads and 2 line break assists. He will drop in price by around $16,000 to be valued at just over $426,000 which is big dollars that could be used elsewhere by those SuperCoaches looking to offload him during the Origin period where he will miss at least four games over the next eight weeks.

Ben Hunt (60) – set up two tries with line break assists in the first half and was looking as if he would go big but fizzled out in the second half and only added an extra 10 points to his total. Hunt will drop another $35,000 in value this week and will be on the market for just under $425,000.

Gareth Widdop owners will be getting nervous after he produced another poor score

Gareth Widdop (36) – had the try and line break assist for Tim Lafai’s try taken off him after the first round of updates which has hurt his 6078 owners. Widdop will sit with a four game average of 43 if this current score remains.

Jack Gosiewski (15) – played 30 minutes on the left edge in his second game and this bottom dollar cheapie will not find his way into any serious teams next week after only narrowly exceeding his breakeven by 12 points.

Corey Oates (9) – suffered dizzy spells at half time and was ruled out for the remainder of the game by the team doctor. Oates will lose huge dollars somewhere in the vicinity of $40,000 after only managing this putrid single digit score to fall well short of his breakeven by 79 points. It was a super trade by those who offloaded him this week, especially if he gains selection for the Maroons.

Anthony Milford (19) – un-characteristically quiet game with virtually no attacking from Milford who failed to make any impact on the game. Those owners who captained him again after last week’s monstrous 148 can either take a ‘glass half full’ approach and say that they have averaged 83 for their captain over the past fortnight or they can spend the rest of the weekend kicking stones and being absolutely filthy. My guess is that most will choose the latter.

Kodi Nikorima (24) – has proved to be an absolute back fire of a purchase. Nikorima played only 32 minutes including a large portion of that time on the left wing in place of Corey Oates.

Corey Parker (52) – as much as we have tried to ignore it, there could be a changing of the guard and the end of era if everyone’s favourite silver fox fails to resume the goal kicking duties after the Origin period. Parker is expected to see extra minutes on the side line during the next eight rounds as he recovers from representative games and will be traded out of many teams next round. The big question is, will he find his way back in for the run home?
