SuperCoach Buy, Hold, Sell round 13: Keen on Keaon Koloamatangi, time for Tom Trbojevic?

There’s so much to take into calculations for SuperCoaches this week – the byes, which Origin players back up and two prime cut-priced keepers.

May chats Origin snub with Matty Johns

The first big bye is out of the way.

But as we take a collective breath, it’s time to start planning for the future.

There are so many things to take into calculations this week:

- The Cowboys are suddenly the most sought-after team in the competition given they don’t have a bye until round 27 (the final week of the regular season). This is by farrrr the best schedule of any team. Unfortunately the buys here are few and far between.

- The Knights, Rabbitohs and Titans are also highly desirable (see full bye planner here). Translation: Plenty of SuperCoaches will be saying hello to Keaon Koloamatangi, Fletcher Sharpe and Dylan Lucas.

- The Sharks, Dolphins and Bulldogs are on the bye this week but don’t even think of selling the likes of Addin Fonua-Blake and Herbie Farnworth.

- The Warriors, Eels and Panthers have the equal worst bye schedules in the competition.

- Origin players are backing up as soon as 48 hours after the game. Check out the full percentage chances of each player backing up here.

- Canberra duo Tom Starling and Joe Tapine are the big watches when judiciary charges drop on Monday, while Corey Horsburgh is also a sell after a host of brain snaps.

BUY

- Keaon Koloamatangi - Coming off the bye, the former Origin player has averaged 90 since his switch to prop two games ago yet is priced on an average of around 65. The Rabbitohs don’t have their next bye until round 19, meaning they have the second best schedule in the competition behind only the Cowboys. The biggest risk is a potential NSW recall.

- Tom Trbojevic - While not back to his best, Turbo looked far better on the weekend with 63 points. He produced 20 runs, a try assist and try contribution in encouraging but hardly brilliant display. Still the 20 runs show he has shaken off a cork that hampered his last two games and he covers the next big bye in round 15. Available at just a tick over $500K this week, you’ll never get him cheaper.

- Fletcher Sharpe - Sharpe is in sizzling form, coming off a massive 132 at fullback filling in for Kalyn Ponga. He should play there again in round 15 when Ponga is out also for Origin. The Knights don’t have a bye until round 18, but the price in the mid-to-low $700,000s could take some salary cap juggling.

- Dylan Lucas - Available at a similar price to Sharpe after a three-try 142 against the Panthers. After a quick stint in the centres and unfounded pre-game rumours he’d been ruled out, Lucas played the full 80 minutes in the back row. He averages 54 in pure base, giving him the highest floor of any CTW-available player (although he’s also a keeper at 2RF for SuperCoach).

- Scott Drinkwater (in a few weeks) - The Cowboys are THE team to own right now as they don’t have a bye until round 27 (last regular season round). That’s by far the best bye schedule of any team in the competition. Drinky is expensive after three tons in a row, but notched only 14 before the bye and is therefore set to massive price drops (BE 155).

- Jayden Campbell - For a guy with plenty of flash, Campbell has been a picture on consistency this season with a low score of 46. Only Cameron Munster has averaged more at five-eighth and the Titans don’t break again until round 18.

HOLD

- Addin Fonua-Blake, Herbie Farnworth, Nicho Hynes, Kayal Iro - The Sharks, Dolphins and Bulldogs are on the bye, but there are no popular sells from these clubs. Certainly hold onto the players mentioned above.

- Haumole Olakau’atu - Escaped with a fine for contrary conduct so available for the Sea Eagles.

SELL

- Corey Horsburgh - A sin bin, a report and generally wild performance after missing Origin selection. Just 41 points mean Horse will start leaking cash and the Raiders have the bye in round 15.

- Savelio Tamale - Another Raider starting to leak cash after missing his BE with 45 points. Start planning to sell given the upcoming bye.

Bizarre late sin bin DRAMA

- Tom Starting and Joe Tapine - Both face nervous waits for match review committee findings on Monday. For Tapine, two incidents will come under scrutiny after earning the ire of referee Adam Gee for a crusher tackle on Marata Niukore early on and a shoulder charge on Roger Tuivasa-Sheck in the final five minutes. Starling made matters worse for the Raiders with the game on the line, after he was sin-binned for a high-flying charge at the head of a kicking Chanel Harris-Tavita.

- Ronaldo Mulitalo - Facing 1-2 weeks for a high shot on Mark Nawaqanitawase. With the bye coming this week, he likely doesn’t play until round 15.

- Demitric Vaimauga - Realistically, those who held only held for this week for just 17 points. Leaking cash and has a poor bye schedule.

- Thomas Jenkins - Saw a decent price rise over the weekend due to a BE of -3 but the rises will stop soon and Origin players are returning. Cash in before the round 15 bye if you haven’t already.

- Isaiah Iongi, Luke Metcalf, Erin Clark - These popular SuperCoach semi-guns have the equal worst bye schedule of any teams (Eels, Warriors and Panthers) so could be on the chopping block depending on team make-up.

- Dylan Egan, Jacob Kiraz - Old news now but many SuperCoaches will no doubt only get around to selling this week. Egan is out for the season with an ACL injury and Kiraz for 4-6 weeks with a calf.
