Greetings KFC SuperCoaches and welcome to our second positional additions of the year.

On the back of our pre-season positional updates, these fresh changes will go live in the game today.

In other words, when KFC SuperCoach opens from lockout in a few hours, the below players will be dual position.

We’ve also included watchlist players who are close and could yet earn dual status later in the season.

Below we explain our rationale for adding positions to those who surprised us and, perhaps more controversially, not adding a position to players who some KFC SuperCoaches may feel deserve it.

THE RULES

* Positions can only be added;

* Positions cannot be taken away;

* Existing positions cannot be changed;

* Players have a maximum of two positions so any player getting a second position added now will not change for the remainder of 2022 no matter where they play;

* After Round 6, there are two more weeks of positional changes in Rounds 12 and 18.

LOCKED IN CHANGES

* Kaeo Weekes: HOK added to 5/8. Has played mostly as a hooker from the bench in four games and therefore earns dual status.

* Connelly Lemuelu: 2RF added to CTW. While technically named in a variety of positions including bench, 2RF and FRF, Lemuelu has played solely as an edge backrower at the Dolphins and therefore earns dual status. Taking out one outlier game where he scored just nine points, Lemuelu has averaged 66 this season and is a serious buy now he has dual status, and by far the biggest winner from position updates.

* Sebastian Kris: FLB added to CTW. Kris has started all five games at fullback.

* Fa’amanu Brown: 2RF added to HOK. Brown started at lock in Round 1 and played mostly as a ball-playing lock off the bench in the following three rounds. Now injured but earns dual status nonetheless.

WATCHLIST

These players are on the verge of earning dual status for the next updates in Round 12 but haven’t quite qualified for this week. Our general rule is that a player must start in a position three times to earn that position in KFC SuperCoach.

* Tom Starling: Currently HOK only. Starling has played a mixture of hooker and lock but at this point he hasn’t done enough to earn dual status.

* Adam Doueihi: Currently 5/8 only. After playing in the halves for the first three rounds, Doueihi started his last two games at fullback. He also played 28 minutes at fullback towards the end of the Round 3 clash against the Bulldogs. He needs one more start in the position to earn dual status so will have to wait until the next updates in Round 12.

* Jayden Campbell: Currently FLB only. Campbell has played plenty of halves off the bench but also filled in at fullback last match when AJ Brimson went off injured. Wasn’t able to add game time in either position over the weekend due to the bye.

* Brandon Smith: Currently HOK only. Smith has played minor minutes as a ball-playing lock this season but not enough to earn dual status for now.

* Selwyn Cobbo: Currently CTW only. Cobbo played one game at fullback in Round 1 but then moved back to wing. He needs another two games starting at FLB to earn dual status.

* Kenny Bromwich: Currently 2RF only. While he played edge the last two weekends with Felise Kaufusi out, KBrom has played plenty of middle this year and was named at prop for one game. While there is often little distinction between lock and prop in the modern game (both are considered middles), we see the Dolphins veteran as mainly a lock and have therefore overlooked him for dual status.

* Jonah Pezet: Currently HFB only. Pezet started one game at five-eighth when Cameron Munster was out and then switched to halfback for the last two weeks with Jahrome Hughes out. The Melbourne tyro needs to start two more games at five-eighth to earn dual status.

PLAYERS WHO CAN’T CHANGE BECAUSE ALREADY DUAL (aka the ‘we got it wrong list’)

* Phoenix Crossland: Playing plenty of bench hooker. But he’s already dual 5/8 and HFB so can’t be changed.

* Drew Hutchison: Utilities like Hutchison are always tough to gauge. He played centre in Rounds 1 and 5 with Joey Manu out. But he’s already dual 5/8 and 2RF so can’t be changed.
