Every NRL SuperCoach position for 2026: Why Sua Fa’alogo lost dual positioning
The boffins at SuperCoach HQ have taken a slightly different approach when assigning positions for 2026 – and it will have a huge impact on the season.
Its not even Christmas but it’s already time to start thinking about SuperCoach 2026.
We’ve analysed every player in the NRL to reveal their position/s for the upcoming season. Some decisions will have a huge impact on make-up of squads including Tom Trbojevic and Latrell Mitchell missing dual.
Note, predicting positions a full three months out from the season start is always fraught. So when in doubt on a player we’ve given them just one position for now and will add later if/when we need to.

Tom Trbojevic remains FLB only (misses CTW)
Turbo started five games at centre last season and was very much on the radar for dual position in 2026. However, he finished the year at fullback and we expect him to start there again in the coming year. We’ve therefore opted for fullback only to start and will add CTW at any of the position change windows (before rounds 1, 6, 12 and 18).
Latrell Mitchell CTW only (loses FLB)
Latrell played all over the place last season with seven games at fullback, two at centre and two at five-eighth. However, his days at fullback appear over following a succession of injuries coupled with the emergence of Jye Gray, so expect Latrell to switch to centre. He could even show up at five-eighth, but we will add that position if/when it happens.
Dylan Brown HFB only (loses ⅝)
Brown played halfback, five-eighth and centre last year at the Eels, but is now at the Knights who have plenty of moving parts in the spine. At this stage we believe Brown is most likely to play halfback with Fletcher Sharpe at five-eighth. We’ll add five-eighth at any of the stages mentioned above if he plays there, or pre-season mail suggests he’ll play there.
Jonah Pezet ⅝ only (loses HFB)
The Parramatta recruit is tipped to play five-eighth outside Mitchell Moses so gets that position only for SuperCoach. The loss of dual is a bit of a blow for cheapie hunters, but the price is not. He starts very close to basement price after averaging just 19 points in 36 minutes last season as a fill-in at the Storm.
Sua Fa’alogo FLB only (loses CTW)
Fa’alogo is considered favourite to play fullback for the Storm following the release of Ryan Papenhuyzen. He’s therefore gets that position only for SuperCoach despite playing solely as a winger last year. Despite losing dual, he’ll still be very popular given his price is based on an average of 58 as a winger, which he could increase considerably as a starting fullback in a good attacking side.
MORE SUPERCOACH:
Daly Cherry-Evans ⅝ (loses (HFB)
The Roosters will rock a new halves pairing and while it hasn’t been confirmed at this stage we believe DCE will wear the 6 and Sam Walker the 7.
Tino Fa’asuamaleaui 2RF only (loses (FRF)
Owned by almost 100,000 SuperCoaches at one stage, Big Tino was a staple for last season, with plenty of appeal coming from flexibility between front and back rows. However, the star Titan only started one of 19 games at prop and therefore loses the position (unless new coach Josh Hannay signals other intentions in the pre-season).
Jayden Campbell HFB only (loses ⅝ and FLB)
Campbell finished last season with the top average of any five-eighth in SuperCoach, despite never actually playing five-eighth. He played all but one of his 20 games at halfback and is therefore only available in that position.
Dylan Lucas 2RF only (loses CTW)
Lucas was a go-to guy at CTW for a large chunk of last season, averaging 76 and owned by over 65,000 coaches at one stage. Key to his popularity was the certainty of his back row work rate in a notoriously uncertain CTW slot. However, Lucas only started one game at centre last season and has therefore lost that position.
