Parramatta have stood down Kate Fallon from Sunday’s NSWRL women’s premiership game on Sunday with concern for her safety following allegations she assaulted a teenager.

The rising NRLW player has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm over an alleged altercation with a 17-year-old last week.

So far the NRL has not enacted the no fault stand down rule while they piece together a clearer version of events with Fallon, police and the Eels.

Due to extenuating circumstances, discussions were ongoing on Wednesday to determine if she would be subjected to the policy, which gives power to the NRL to stand down any player charged with serious offences as the judicial process plays out.

In the meantime, the Eels have opted to take the matters into their own hands to protect Fallon.

Since news of the alleged altercation broke she has been subjected to ongoing threats to her personal safety, forcing the club to take action by withdrawing her from Sunday’s game.

“Following discussions with the player, NRL and NSWRL, we have made a decision to withdraw her from the game this weekend due to concerns for her safety and welfare,” the Eels said in a statement.

“The club will continue to provide our player and her family with support.

“As it is a police matter, the club will not be making further comment at this time.”

The 20-year-old was due to play for the club’s Harvey Norman women’s premiership team against South Sydney at Eric Tweedale Stadium in Sydney on Sunday.

She has not yet played NRLW, but was named on the extended bench for Saturday’s clash with Brisbane.

“The NRL is aware that New South Wales Police have charged NRLW player Kate Fallon with assault occasioning actual bodily harm on July 17, 2024,” said an NRL statement on Wednesday afternoon.

“The NRL and Parramatta Eels have agreed that the player will be stood down from matches this weekend.
