North Queensland star Valentine Holmes is under investigation by the NRL over a photo that has since been deleted.

Valentine Holmes is under investigation by the NRL over a photo that has since ben deleted.

The Queensland State of Origin cult hero has been seen in a picture appearing with a small bag of white powder in his mouth.

The Daily Telegraph first reported the NRL Integrity Unit is looking into the matter.

The photo was first shared on Holmes’ own personal Instagram account and has since been taken down.

According to the report, it was the Cowboys who first went to the NRL to inform the Integrity unit of the situation.

The star centre was last month rubbed out for the rest of the regular season after he was banned for four matches at a bizarre judiciary hearing.

Cowboys bosses declined to comment but confirmed an investigation into Holmes was underway.
