NRL 2023: Canberra Raiders caught up in Anzac jersey bungle in 2022 kit

The Canberra Raiders may be the latest club to come under fire for an Anzac jersey bungle, after allegedly using a stock image of a US soldier in their 2022 kit.

Canberra may be the latest club to come under fire for an Anzac Day jersey bungle, with claims a stock image of a US soldier was also used on an NRL playing kit used last year.

The Wests Tigers were this week forced to redesign this year’s commemorative jersey following revelations that their strip featured images of American, instead of Australian, soldiers.

However the Raiders may also have a case to answer amid accusations on social media that last season’s Anzac Day strip also used a US soldier.

A near exact image was found on a stock image website.

Canberra were unable to clarify the apparent mistake but have begun inquiries with their apparel sponsor, who are currently closed during the Easter holiday break.

The Raiders played in the kit, which is still available on their website, against Penrith on April 24 last year.
