Injured Bunnies vow to make 2025 count

The big guns of NRL live broadcasting are ready to go head-to-head for ears and eyeballs with round one just around the corner.

The networks have been shaken up over the off-season with some major changes to the broadcasting programs as well as new talent, both on the radio waves and television screens.

Corey Parker and Mark Geyer have both made big switches and former Brisbane coach Kevin Walters has resumed his pre-coaching role at Fox Sports.

Outspoken Brisbane legend Parker’s exit from the network has paved the way for his new radio gig with SEN in Queensland, where he has been working all summer dissecting headlines and dishing out opinions.

Walters, who was axed from the Broncos at the end of their disastrous 2024 season, has rejoined Fox Sports as an expert analyst alongside a steady stable of some of the game’s biggest and best rugby league minds.

Retired Warriors star Shaun Johnson also returns for 2025 as an expert panellist for live games throughout the season.

Sydney Roosters and Melbourne premiership hero Cooper Cronk will feature twice a week on Thursday Night League and Super Saturday in commentary, as well as giving his expert opinion and insightful game analysis.

Braith Anasta and Gorden Tallis will co-host NRL 360 for the second year in a row, while Yvonne Sampson again leads Fox League’s coverage on Friday and Saturdays throughout the season.

Although they are not yet ready to announce their final line-up for 2025, the absence of Paul “Fatty” Vautin will leave a jovial hole in Channel 9’s coverage that has endured across his 33-year career.

In the world of radio, Walters has also joined Triple M, where he will have a brand new weekly podcast with former South Sydney coach Jason Demetriou as part of a shake-up of station offerings.

The removal of daily show The Rush Hour from Triple M’s afternoon programming has ended Geyer’s tenure at the station, however, he’s not lost to NRL coverage.

The Penrith legend is now a part of 2GB’s stacked line-up on a Saturday afternoon from 1pm, along with Mark Levy, Darryl Brohman, Paul Gallen and Allana Ferguson.

Levy will call games on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons, while Mat Thompson, Chris Warren will cover Saturday night and Sunday calls with Josh Morris and Jamie Soward giving expert opinion.

Fans are spoiled for choice.
