Dragons duo Zac Lomax and Daniel Alvaro will reportedly be left behind when their teammates travel to Queensland on Wednesday and could miss up to a month of footy.

It was revealed on Sunday that Lomax and Alvaro were the only two Dragons players refusing to sign a sworn document that details the events of Paul Vaughan’s now infamous barbecue which breached the NRL’s Covid protocols.

This leaves them on the outer as the Dragons — along with 11 other clubs — prepare to relocate to Queensland to escape Sydney’s Covid outbreak.

News Corp is reporting Lomax and Alvaro won’t be eligible to travel with the squad on Wednesday, while according to The Australian’s Brent Read they could be sidelined for up to a month.

The pair are currently in a 14-day isolation period. If they change their stance on the document after Wednesday’s moving day, they will have to serve another 14 days in quarantine in Queensland.

Lomax lives with his brother Hayden — a Dragons development player — so he too is facing the same fate as Zac.

The document was drawn up by the NRL and Rugby League Player’s Association to confirm that no one from outside of the bubble were present at Vaughan’s barbecue on Saturday, 3rd July.

The other 10 players have already signed the document and according to News Corp were given the all clear to return to training on Monday. Those players are Corey Norman, Jack Bird, Matt Dufty, Josh McGuire, Tyrell Fuimaono, Blake Lawrie, Kaide Ellis, Jack de Belin, Josh Kerr and Gerard Beale.

While those 10 players will travel with the rest of the squad on Wednesday, not all of them will play in St George Illawarra’s clash with Manly on Friday. They were all handed a one-match ban for breaching protocols however those suspensions will be served over a two to four week period to ensure the Dragons have enough players to field a team.

The club is yet to confirm when each players’ suspension will be served.
