Live coverage: Broncos take on Dragons in NRL 2018 elimination final

They were hit by injury and had to withstand a late Broncos charge but the Dragons have charged to an epic finals victory at Suncorp Stadium. RELIVE THE ACTION

The St George Illawarra Dragons have stunned the Broncos 48-18 in front of their home fans at Suncorp Stadium to advance to next week's semi-final against South Sydney.

It was one of the most memorable clashes in recent history, capping off a remarkable opening week of finals football.

Sam Thaiday's NRL career came to an end, Zac Lomax emerged as a future superstar, Tariq Sims scored a knockout win over brother Korbin and embattled halfback Ben Hunt defied critics to lead the Red V to victory.

Injuries to a number of key men soured the enthralling fixture.

Gareth Widdop appeared to pop his shoulder out, making him almost zero chance of facing the Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.

Jack de Belin limped off with an ankle injury, putting him in extreme doubt for the semi-final.

While inspirational prop James Graham will have to pass concussion protocol to take his place.

Brisbane duo Joe Ofahengaue and David Fifita also failed to finish the clash.

Is that the best opening week of finals footy we've ever seen? Perhaps.
