GOLD Coast recruit Jarryd Hayne will debut for the Titans in Sunday’s crucial home NRL match against the Warriors.
Titans coach Neil Henry has confirmed Hayne will start off the bench for his new club in what will be his first NRL appearance since the 2014 season.
Hayne only joined the Titans on Wednesday but Henry says he’s confident the dual Dally M medallist is ready to go.
“It’s only natural that he’s not going to be up to speed straight away, that’s why we’ll try and limit his time on the field,” Henry said.
“Get him out there hopefully some time in the first half.”
Hayne is expected to play at five-eighth when he does come on with utility Cameron Cullen and former Parramatta hooker Nathan Peats to share the dummy-half role.
Peats will play after missing Monday’s dramatic 18-18 draw with Cronulla due to a hamstring strain.
Already 24,000 tickets have been sold for the match with Cbus Super Stadium having a 27,600 capacity.
The match looms as a crucial one for both clubs with the seventh-placed Titans just one point clear of the eighth-placed Warriors.
