JOSH Reynolds lost it at teammate Michael Lichaa on the field after a poor pass against the Warriors last week, but NSW coach Laurie Daley says it’s not something that would greatly affect his chances of an Origin call-up.
Speaking with The Daily Telegraph’s Dean Ritchie on League Central TV’s Loz & Dog Show, Daley said Reynolds is “passionate” and though you can’t let emotion override you in on the Origin stage, that he’d not had a problem at that level before.
“He’s passionate. He certainly won’t make an NFL quarterback the way he threw that ball,” Daley said.
“He’s a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve he’s a terrific competitor and sometimes the emotion can get the better of Josh and that was one occasion.
“In a high-pressure game you’ve got to be on your guard for the full 80 minutes and you can’t let emotion affect your decision-making ... but when he’s been there before he’s been excellent for us.”
Loz & Dog also discussed Mal Meninga’s Kangaroos selection headache, the form of Greg Inglis and possible bolters for the Blues team.
