Brawling NRL player agents, Chris Orr and Nash Dawson, issued monster fines and suspensions

They manage some of the biggest names in the NRL, but two brawling player agents are set to be sidelined for a combined 13 months after receiving breach notices from head office.

The NRL has continued its blitz on player managers after outlining plans to issue two of the game’s biggest players’ agents with monster fines and massive suspensions over a fight involving the pair more than a year ago.

Chris Orr and Nash Dawson, who count the likes of Reece Walsh, Ezra Mam, Dylan Brown, Robert Toia and Scott Drinkwater among their clientele, are facing sanctions after becoming involved in a physical altercation at the Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Championships in 2024.

The NRL has proposed a nine-month suspension and $15,000 fine for Dawson, and a six-month suspension and $10,000 fine for Orr.

The breach notice alleges that both agents have breached the NRL Accredited Agent Scheme Rules and the Accredited Agents’ Code of Conduct.

It is also alleged that the agents failed to cooperate with the NRL integrity unit. The NRL said that under the Accredited Agents’ Code of Conduct, agents are required to “operate with high

personal and professional standards”.

Both agents have five business days to respond to the show cause notices.
