Bob Hagan Obit: Former Bulldogs player, coach and CEO dies aged 85
Former Queensland, NSW and Australian player, Bob Hagan, has passed away on the Sunshine Coast. Hagan spent nearly four decades at Canterbury, joining as a player in 1967 before being appointed club CEO in 1996.

Former Canterbury player, coach and CEO, Bob Hagan, has died. He was 85.
An ex-Queensland, NSW and Australian player, Hagan passed away on the Sunshine Coast.
He was also the inaugural president of the Gold Coast Giants and a noted publican.
The older brother of Michael Hagan who was a two-time premiership-winning player with Canterbury and Queensland Origin coach, Bob was a Family of League stalwart on the Sunshine Coast.
Bulldogs player No.324, Hagan arrived at Belmore in 1967 and played in a grand final against South Sydney that same year.
He played 45 first grade matches for Canterbury and later became the club’s head coach.
Hagan was appointed Canterbury’s CEO in 1996 and held the role for seven seasons.
A Bulldogs statement read: “He holds the unique distinction as the only person in club history to have been a first-grade player, first-grade head coach and CEO.
“The Bulldogs wish to pay their respects to Bob. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
Bob lost his wife Laurel late last year and is survived by sons Damian and Justin.
