Next year’s Super Netball grand final will be played at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre after the event was sold to the South Australian government.
For the third year in succession, Netball Australia will sell the competition decider.
Last year’s final was played in Perth, while this season’s decider between the Adelaide Thunderbirds and NSW Swifts will be played on Saturday in Melbourne.
The Adelaide Entertainment Centre will also become the Thunderbirds’ preferred home venue – rather than Netball SA Stadium – as part of the deal between Netball Australia and the South Australian government.
“The significance of the move of the Thunderbirds to the Entertainment Centre can’t be understated,” South Australia’s Premier Peter Malinauskas said.
“It will provide an opportunity to grow crowds at the elite level of the game.”
Netball Australia chief executive officer Kelly Ryan said: “This partnership will create a legacy for the future generations of South Australian netballers.
“Demand is stronger than ever for netball.
“We look forward to bringing the Super Netball grand final to Adelaide in 2024.”
