FORMER Adelaide Thunderbirds captain Renae Ingles has signed as a training partner with Melbourne Vixens.
The Vixens announced the move on Thursday and the midcourter will travel with the team to Sydney on the weekend for the Super Netball clash against Giants Netball.
A world champion with the Diamonds in 2015, Ingles returned to Australia on Tuesday after being based in Utah with husband Joe while he played in the NBA with the Jazz.
Ingles played in the 2009 premiership with the Vixens, who beat the Thunderbirds in the grand final, before moving to Adelaide in 2012.
She played in the 2013 premiership triumph for the Thunderbirds, captained the side for two years and announced her retirement at the end of the 2017 season.
“I’ve been so excited just to get home to Melbourne to be with my family and then the opportunity came up to come in and train with the Vixens, which to me is just a dream come true,” Ingles told the Vixens website.
“I’m so excited to be back home playing netball in Victoria. The Vixens always play a very exciting brand of netball so I’m excited to get in and train with the girls.”
