Adelaide Thunderbirds shooter Sasha Glasgow has ruptured her ACL and faces surgery
Adelaide Thunderbirds shooter Sasha Glasgow has been enjoying a brilliant season, but now faces a lengthy stint on the sidelines. And there are fears a teammate has suffered a similar fate.

- T-Birds lose Cobden to ACL injury
- Guscoth’s season over after Achilles rupture
THE career of highly promising Adelaide Thunderbirds shooter Sasha Glasgow will be put on hold after she ruptured her ACL in the loss to Netball Giants in Mile End on Sunday.
Scans confirmed fears the youngster, thriving this season with New Zealand superstar Maria Folau alongside her in the goal circle, had seriously damaged the knee when she collapsed to the court in the final seconds of the opening quarter.

Glasgow will have a knee reconstruction and will miss the final minor round clash against Sunshine Coast Lightning on the road on Saturday night. Her availability for the 2020 season is also under a cloud.
“We are devastated for Sasha about the confirmation of her ACL injury,” Thunderbirds coach Tania Obst said. “We will ensure she has the best care possible moving forward and will support her through her rehabilitation.
“She has been a shining light for our team this year and we look forward to seeing her back out on the court in the future.”
The Thunderbirds will almost certainly be without another shooter Emma Ryde for the battle against the competition pacesetters after she hurt her left knee in the third quarter against the Giants.
Ryde, who had replaced Glasgow, will have scans on the knee and there are also worries she may have damaged the ACL.
The young Victorian has been with the team for the past four rounds after being a surprise replacement for injured England international Layla Guscoth, sidelined after ruptured her Achilles at the World Cup last month.
The Thunderbirds lost wing defence Beth Cobden to a ruptured ACL in round 3 and she had had her third knee reconstruction.
