Daniel Ricciardo has posted a photo to Instagram that has gushing fans just about all saying the same thing.
Ricciardo and Oscar Piastri will both take to the grid for this weekend’s Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in Melbourne.

The 34-year-old Ricciardo is in his first full season with Red Bull’s support team, Visa Cash App RB, while Piastri, 22, is enjoying his second year with McLaren.
The compatriots haven’t been known to have a particularly close relationship to this point, but Ricciardo posted a heartwarming photo of the two arm in arm on a tennis court with the caption “We’re home” with an Australian flag emoji.
Even more sweetly, the post was accompanied by Aussie music star Missy Higgins’ song The Special Two.
It’s likely the pair had enjoyed a game of padel tennis, considering West Australian Ricciardo has posted a series of padel images in recent weeks featuring the likes of Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso and Piastri’s McLaren teammate, Lando Norris.
One of the posts had the caption “Padel has taken over the F1 world”, while another declared “Friends that Padel together, stay together”.
The response to the photo of the two Aussie drivers has been warm to say the least.
“Well this is a bit cute, hope they both have a great race weekend!!” was one comment on Reddit.
“Big bro little bro vibes. Cuteeee,” wrote another.
“This is cute!! Did not realise Oscar was as solid as he is, always thought of him as a similar size to Lando. (Or is Daniel just kind of tiny?),” added a third.
Piastri, who finished ninth in last year’s F1 world championship as a rookie, has made a solid start to 2024, currently sitting fifth after two races with 16 points.
Ricciardo is yet to finish in the points and is under pressure from his Red Bull team to start showing some results, beginning in Melbourne this weekend.
Some other fans were quick to comment on the relationship between Piastri and Ricciardo.
“Puts to bed any sort of discussion about a potential animosity between them I hope. Not that I thought they did anyway, with their personalities,” was one comment.
“Both of them look great, imagine if they were actual teammates, could you imagine the banter coming from them!” added another.
Others were more interested in the physical comparison between the two drivers.
“Daniel is shorter than I thought and Oscar is taller than I thought. That’s my take from this pic,” offered one.
“Does Oscar have a huge head or Daniel have a tiny one?” asked a second.
Practice for this year’s Australian GP at Albert Park gets underway on Thursday.
