The exciting Adelaide Motorsport Festival has again delivered another video with race cars on city streets and other scenic SA locations
WATCH THE VIDEO — Some of the world’s greatest motorsport stars feature in a film promoting the Adelaide Motorsport Festival and millions worldwide are expected to tune in.
ADELAIDE Motorsport Festival organisers have launched their short film for the 2018 event which highlights international and SA locations and organisers are hoping it will be as big as last year’s film which went viral with millions of views.
Filming of the clip began in Italy in May with 1980s Formula One stars Ivan Capelli and Pierluigi Martini, who were prominent when Adelaide had an F1 race.
It also has appearances from Bathurst winner Craig Lowndes, British Rally champion Alister McRae, Le Man winner and former F1 driver David Brabham and Supercars driver Tim Slade.
Locations for Race to the City 2018 include the Coorong, River Murray, The Bend Motorsport Park, Adelaide Hills, Port Adelaide, the city and surrounds.
Cars showcased in the film include F1 cars from Ferrari and Leyton House, the hybrid LaFerrari, Adelaide’s own Brabham BT62 and a rally-prepped Mitsubishi Evo.
Last year’s film reached more than 2.5 million people around the world.
“The Adelaide Motorsport Festival itself is a huge success because we bring something new to the event every year,” event director Tim Possingham said. “The same can be said for our short film.
“This will be an annual occurrence and year on we will attempt to change the film so that it is fresh and new but remains relevant.
“Our strategy this year was to reach out globally with the film, give it an international flavour and appeal in terms of location and those featured in the film.
“It’s a hard ask on a shockingly tiny budget but I think we have done well.”
The full length film will be available the Adelaide Motorsport Festival’s Facebook page after 8.30pm. The Adelaide Motorsport Festival runs from November 28 to December 2 and includes the Adelaide Rally.
