PROMINENT Supercars drivers Garth Tander and David Reynolds were at The Bend motorsport park at Tailem Bend on Thursday and gave it a big thumbs up ahead of this weekend’s inaugural event.
The pair will race against one another in the Shannons Nationals over Saturday and Sunday — Tander in an Audi and Reynolds in a Mercedes — and it will be an opportunity for them to race on the track ahead of when the Supercars arrive in Adelaide later in the year.
“It’s incredibly challenging,” Tander said.
“Easily the hardest circuit I’ve ever had to learn.”
Reynolds, who flew into Adelaide only yesterday, said The Bend was the best thing that had happened to motorsport in Australia in decades.
