RISING Melbourne model Helena Vestergaard is expected to be named the new face of the Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island.
The teenage beauty, raised in Melbourne but based in Los Angeles, leads a trio of glamour models short-listed for the role before the high-octane event on October 18-20. Fellow Melbourne model Madeleine Dixon, discovered at St Kilda markets before being whisked away to the catwalks of New York and Germany, and Australia's Next Top Model graduate Sophie Van Den Akker are also short-listed.
But Vestergaard is the hot favourite. Event organisers are expected to announce in coming weeks that she and Carlton footballer and motorbike enthusiast Matthew Kreuzer are the official trackside ambassadors.
Vestergaard has made headlines in recent weeks for dating Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis, 50.
It is not known if he will be trackside during the event, but his band has no commitments during the Melbourne leg of the high-speed global championship.
