Adelaide City is primed and ready to make its second WNPL/WSL cup final in as many years as they aim for back-to-back cup titles, according to star striker Chelsie Dawber.
The side currently sits third on the WNPL ladder and will take on second-spot Salisbury Inter in their semi-final at VALO Football Centre on Tuesday night.
It is one of four senior women’s semi-finals to be live and exclusively broadcast by The Advertiser and Messenger on advertiser.com.au.
“It’s so exciting to be competing in another semi-final and we are of course all hoping we can win another cup,” Dawber said.
“The girls have had to learn to play a new system this year, but we’re building on our strong performances and are ready for the challenge.
Dawber said making the final would give some new players invaluable experience.
“It would mean some players would be playing their first final, so I really hope we can win and give them that experience,” she said.
“Salisbury Inter’s style of play is different to ours and can be tough to break. It should be a really competitive match.”
Sixth-placed NPL side Adelaide Comets will take on fifth-spot Metro United in Tuesday’s other WNPL/WSL semi-final.
Metro are slight favourites, having won their first match-up, but with their latest meeting a 2-2 draw it will be neck-and-neck.
Croydon Div 2 is aiming to continue their impressive undefeated season in style on Wednesday when they face Salisbury Inter Div 1 in their Div 1/2/3 semi-final.
While they are undefeated, attacking midfielder Ana Lekic said her team needs to be at its best to beat the favoured Salisbury side.
“We’re obviously aiming to continue our undefeated run but we know Salisbury is a strong outfit,” she said.

“We need to give 100 per cent from kick-off, that’s the only option. They’re a more experienced team than us so it’s going to be a tough match.”
Lekic is confident her team can achieve an upset, crediting their approach to the season.
“Our squad is very dedicated and we’ve gelled so well together,” she said.
“We’re ultimately in it for fun and I think that has translated in our strong performances.”
In Wednesday’s other Div 1/2/3 semi-final, Adelaide Uni, top spot in Division 1, will take on fellow Div 1 side WT Birkalla, who sit in fourth.
Hot favourite Adelaide Uni has been on fire this season, recording only two losses, and defeated Birkalla 5-2 in their last meeting.
Birkalla has a deep squad however, and their firepower in attack should make for an intriguing clash.
Live stream coverage of the WNPL/WSL Cup matches will begin at 7.45pm on Tuesday, while the Div 1/2/3 Cup games will begin at the same time on Wednesday.
All matches will be simultaneously streamed from both pitches at VALO Football Centre.
