Also a dominant young star in the world of taekwondo having recently represented Australia in the Cadet World Championships, Baak, from the Enfield Little Atheltics Club, will compete in the U15 triple jump and high jump events this week and is no stranger to success on the national stage. In 2022, she won gold at the State Individual Championships in the U13 triple jump and high jump.

He was also a finalist in the 100m (12.95s) and 200m (26.08s).

ALAKSANDER BORUC

Rising U14 athlete Aleksander Boruc will be going for gold in the hurdles this weekend.

Boruc will race in the 90m and 200m events after his success at the state championships, which saw him leave with a gold in both of those events and a silver in the 400m.

ASHLEIGH HEGGIE

Heggie is gearing up to compete in the U14 high jump and shot put events at the Australian Little Athletics Championships. The talented Lyndoch & Districts Little Athletics Club athlete is consistent in a number of events and last year competed at national level in the U13 girls 1500m run.

Rising Northern Districts Athletics Club star Lawson will compete in the U13 discus, javelin and shot put events and should be a major chance of finishing with a medal. He recently became the U14 men’s national hammer throw champion, winning gold at the Australian Athletics Championships with a throw of 46.98m and will be looking to build on that momentum this weekend.

LUKE RAMSEY

An U13 star from Port Lincoln, Ramsey, who is legally blind, is set to compete in the multi-class category. He has a heavy schedule for the weekend’s events, competing in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and long jump.

MAGGIE ROBINSON

Hills Little Athletics Centre young gun Maggie Robinson will compete in both the U14 400m and 800m events this weekend. She enjoyed success at the recent state individual championships and was part of the 2023 state team.

A star of the state team and one of the state’s most decorated junior athletes, Taylor is set to compete in the U15 heptathlon category. The Western Athletics Club member has already made waves in the athletics world, but the seven-event heptathlon combines track and field disciplines and is a relatively new challenge for her. She has also been a standout nationally in long jump, recently winning gold in the Australian Athletics Championships U16s event.
