Tango edged a tight first quarter before extending their advantage to five goals by halftime (26-21). A 16-11 third-quarter run effectively sealed the result even though the Jaguars made life interesting by taking the final quarter honours 15-12.

PREVIEW
Two winless Netball SA Premier League clubs clash in round three on Friday night, and one young star believes her side is ready to make some noise after a challenging two weeks.
Gun 17-year-old Newton Jaguars midcourter Sienna Burns – who committed to her club in the pre-season after a dominant 2022 – said her team was edging closer to a full four-quarter effort as it prepared to face Tango this week.

The Jaguars lost to third-placed Garville in round one and top side South Adelaide – led by reigning MVP Jess Paradiso – last week, but showed signs of improvement in link up play and attacking synergy.
“We’re definitely on the up even though we’ve had a tough start results-wise,” Burns said.
“At the end of the day the numbers probably don’t reflect how tight games have been in general – we just need to start stringing a full four quarters together.
“If we stick to our structures and execute, which we showed we can do in pre-season, I think we’ll start to see some good results.”
While the Jaguars went down by 35 to South Adelaide in round two, Burns said the side would benefit from the experience.
“They’ve recruited so well and they’re super clinical – they don’t turn the ball over and with the likes of Paradiso and Maggie Kerr they’re always dangerous,” she said.
“I don’t think there’s a ‘weak’ team in the competition any more, South are just one of those really good teams and we’ve already learned a lot from the experience last week, which will only help moving forward.”
Tango has also struggled for a win to start this season, losing to South Adelaide in round one and Matrics – two of the competition’s best sides – in round two.
Burns said the Jaguars would not be taking their opponent lightly.
“A win would be absolutely huge, but we know Tango matches up quite well with us and they have a lot of talent, which will eventually come together.
“They hunt defensively, so we know we need to be at our best if we want to come away with our first win.
“We know the potential of our group is so high, we just need to solidify those connections on the court and maintain our structures.”
