The River Murray’s brightest stars are ready to shine at this weekend’s Netball SA Country Championships, according to one of the state’s top young attackers.

Bridie Loller, who represents the Murray’s U17s side at the championships, has made waves through regional SA netball as of late, becoming a part of Netball SA’s Thunderbirds Talent Academy and inaugural Youth Advisory Group.

The star goal shooter and goal attack has been dominant for Tailem Bend, but will now set her sights on the rest of SA country’s top players as her team aims for Country Championships success.

“As a team we’ve all talked about building camaraderie and improving on and off the court, but we’re also aiming to win as many games as possible,” Loller said.

“I’m going to help my team however I can and I’m ready to take on any role I need to play.”

Loller said she has seen significant development in her game as a shooter and goal attack during her recent time at Tailem Bend and in the Thunderbirds Academy.

The teenage star believed she was ready to make an impact on the big stage.

“My time at Tailem Bend has been really great. They put me straight into seniors, so to be able to play A Grade has been fantastic,” she said.

“Being in the Academy has been really lovely as well and we’ve had some really good coaches. It’s awesome to be able to train with other athletes at that level.

“I’m really looking forward to the championships. It’s really lovely to be part of your club and community in country sport and we want to make an impact this weekend.”

As far as her individual goals go, Loller had her sights set on big things.

“I want to continue playing A Grade at Tailem Bend and doing as well as I can, but I’m also going to look towards going to Adelaide and making it there.

“I want to be as successful as I can be and play at the highest level I can reach.”
