Devon will be left to rue a poor third-quarter fade out in Saturday’s loss against Kingston, with a last-quarter comeback not enough to secure a much-needed victory.
The 51-48 loss was one largely off the back of a 17-10 third-quarter advantage from the Blues who led by just three goals at halftime after a tight first-half.

Trailing by 10 at the final break, Devon responded strongly to outscore the home side 15-8 in the final term but it wasn’t enough with the visitors falling three goals short of tying the game and four for a comeback win.
Blues skipper Nicole Hunt continued her terrific season, finishing with 37 goals, while Tess Cooper and Lucy Street were also strong throughout.
Devon shooters Tyrah Bacon (22 goals) and Jessie Eberhardt (14) led the final quarter comeback while Kendall Jones also performed well through centre court.
The win extends Kingston’s lead in second place on the ladder – 11-3-1 – while Devon now face a tough task to break into the TNL’s top four.
In the U19 clash, it was Devon that won a tight battle 49-42 over Kingston.
Kingston v Devon (19&U) – 2025 Tasmanian Netball League Round 18
PREVIEW
Devon will be playing elimination style matches for the remainder of the season as they look to jump into the TNL’s top four amid one of the toughest runs to finish the season.
Sitting fifth, half-a-game behind Cripps, who have the bye this weekend, Devon will take on second placed Kingston with a win leapfrogging them into fourth spot.
The round 18 match will be available live and exclusive on KommunityTV from 3.30pm, with the U19s kicking off from 2pm.
Devon coach Rachel Kerslake said her side will need to be switched on from the start.
“It will be a very tough few weeks for the girls if they are to play finals, we will need to win at least two of the last three games,” Kerslake said.
“I believe we are a real threat against any side we play when we are on and that is the key focus for these girls is to make sure they are on from the get go.
“We have a few players out who are in the (Tasmania) Wild (squad), but that gives opportunities for others to stand up as we know Kingston have some out as well.
“We do need to be really tight on our defence against them, we are expecting a really tough match up.
“They are second for a reason, they are one of the toughest teams in the competition and that is how we need to match up with them.”
Following this weekend’s match up, Devon will have the bye before taking on ladder leaders Cavs and then Cripps.
Cripps have the bye this week before playing third placed Hawks and the sixth placed Suns, before the battle for fourth spot against Devon in the final round of the year.
It is similar but different for the Devon under-19s who currently sit fourth but equal second on points with Kingston and Cripps, just 5.93 per cent off the top-two.
The Hawks sit comfortably on top spot, five games clear with the next three teams battling it out for a home final and a top two spot.
