A big upset has turned the boys title race on its head and handed the advantage to the host state at the Sport Australia Under-12 Football Championships.

High-quality contests were on show in the fifth day of competition on Thursday with all six matches live streamed by KommunityTV.

Western Australia’s boys side was the big winner, downing previously dominant Victoria to give the Big V its first loss of the tournament.

The result means South Australia, which comfortably beat the ACT on Thursday, is the only undefeated side left in the boys draw ahead of the final day on Friday.

In the girls division, SA and Victoria are both yet to lose ahead of their clash to finish the championships.
