PREVIEW
Fresh from watching their senior side push A-League powerhouse Melbourne City all the way in this week’s Australia Cup quarter-finals, MetroStars will have two shots at glory in the underage deciders.
The Klemzig-based club, which claimed the under-12 boys cup last year, will take on Playford City in the under-17 final and Adelaide Comets in the under-15 clash, both at 11.30am.
Playford City will be determined to upset their rivals run at the Cup in the Under-17 boys, but midfielder Kalan Moore, who will play in his first-ever final, knew it would be a tough task to knock off the MetroStars.
“It’ll be hard game because they’re in the league above,” Moore, 17, said.
“I’m feeling really excited but a bit nervous.”
The two sides have not yet played each other this season.
Playford came out on top in this year’s league competition and hope to add another trophy to their haul for the season.
“We all want to win and we’ve worked so hard to be here, with lots of training,” Moore said.
Adelaide Comets will also feature in the under-16 decider (against Campbelltown City) and under-13 final (against Cumberland United).
Campbelltown’s clash with Modbury Jets (under-12) and Football SA Under-13 Boys’ encounter with Vipers (under-14) round out a cracking day of cup football.
If you can’t catch the action live, KommunityTV will also have full match replay videos of all six finals right here.
The Boys Cup finals broadcast concludes our season-long partnership with Football SA, which has also included the SAJSA State Championships, Under-18 / Reserves Federation Cup finals, Women’s / Girls Cup finals and Under-18 / Reserves NPL, State League One and State League Two grand finals.
