2025 Emerging Matildas Championships live stream: Watch every match on grand final day

Alexis Pantozopolous struck gold, while a pair of NSW Sky talents triumphed on a massive grand finals day at the Emerging Matildas Championships. Watch all the REPLAYS.

It took until the final day, and final match of a massive week at the Emerging Matildas Championships, but finally the NSW Sky Under-16 defences were breached.

After 385 minutes of clean sheets, the defending national champions finally conceded a goal, and it was the most decisive goal of the week.

Victoria Blue’s Alexis Pantazopoulos managed to deflect the ball past NSW Sky keeper Annabelle Croll to deliver a 1-0 win and the national title to the southern state.

NSW Sky v Victoria Blue (U16 Championship)

It was a rare moment of miscommunication at the back for the sky blues, with Croll’s goal kick sent back into the box on the volley with the Victorian striker managing to sneak between the keeper and the back four to score.

NSW Sky had their opportunities, but the Victorian side shut up shop at the other end, with young keeper Emmy Traynor working overtime to keep out her rivals.

A final corner on the full time whistle gave the NSW Sky side one last chance to equalise, but the Victorians got their bodies in the way with Traynor crumbling to the ground in a moment of raw emotion as the whistle sounded.

NSW Sky have clinched back-to-back Under-15 national titles after storming home to win the gold medal match at the Emerging Matildas Championships.

A first-half double to NSW Sky captain and star defender Tessa Young as well as a double to the tournament’s joint-golden boot winner Jada Taylor helped deliver a dominant 4-1 win over rival federation Northern NSW.

NSW Sky v Northern NSW (U15 Championship)

It was a result no-one saw coming in the decider after both sides had finished the tournament unbeaten, with a 1-1 draw against each other back on day two the only blemish on either’s record for the week.

But the Sky Blue girls came into the final on a mission, scoring off a scrappy moment in the opening five minutes.

Northern NSW fought their way back into the contest, and seemed to have the upper hand for a long period of the first half but couldn’t get a clear shot on goal as the NSW Sky defence proved why it was the best in the tournament.

The NSW Sky side conceded three girls across the entire tournament, while scoring 38 up the other end of the pitch proving their comprehensive domination of the week.

When Young headed home from a corner midway through the first half the result seemed academic, while Taylor, who was easily the NSW side’s best through the midfield, made certain of it with a highlight worthy left-footer minutes out from the main break.

Northern NSW managed to get one goal back on their rivals in the final minutes of the match with Matilda Fleming scoring late.

The bronze medal play-offs both went to nailbiting penalty shoot-outs on Sunday morning.

Capital Football v Queensland Maroon (U16 Third-Place PO)

Queensland Maroon v NSW Navy (U15 Third-Place PO)

Queensland Maroon won the Under-16s bronze medal, defeating Capital Football 6-5 in the penalty shoot-out.

While it was ecstasy for Queensland and their massive throng of support crew, who made the Valentine Sports Park quake throughout the shoot-out, it was heartbreak for the girls from the nation’s capital.

It was a brave performance by Capital Football goalkeeper Ingrid Laursen who entered the tournament with a fractured finger, but refused to be rested across a big week-long campaign.

Queensland trailed for most of the second half after a sharp goal from Capital Football’s Ella Hall, before a late header, which took a nasty deflection off a defender’s legs, squirrelled past Laursen to even the scores with five minutes to play in regulation.

In the Under-15s bronze medal decider NSW Navy goalkeeper Emma Usljebrka was perfect between the sticks, saving three-straight shots from the Queensland Maroon girls to clinch the bronze medal.

PREVIEW

New South Wales Sky will be gunning for grand final glory across both the Under-15 and Under-16 divisions when the whistle blows on the final day of play at the 2025 Emerging Matildas Championships in Sydney.

Both NSW Sky outfits qualified for Sunday’s deciders with equally as impressive semi-final wins on Saturday, with the U16 Sky looking to go back-to-back after winning last year’s title.

They’ll face Victoria Blue while the U15 grand final will be an all-NSW affair, with the Sky set to face Northern NSW.

Both grand final matches will form part of KommunityTV’s broadcast, with all the action available live and exclusive across three fields from 8.20am.

A comprehensive 5-0 win over Capital Football has the U16 Sky well placed to secure the championship but they’ll face a Victoria Blue outfit full of confidence after a penalty shootout win over Queensland Maroon on Saturday.

After a 0-0 tie at full-time, it took a 5-3 penalty shootout win for the Victoria to qualify and ensure the Maroon’s wouldn’t win a second straight final via a penalty shootout.

The U15 decider appears to be anyone’s for the taking, with both NSW Sky and Northern NSW dominating their semi-finals on Saturday.

The Sky defeated NSW Navy 4-1 while Northern knocked off Queensland Maroon 4-1.

For the second straight year KommunityTV and News Corp Australia have partnered with Football Australia to bring the nation’s flagship underage national championships to life on the small screen.

Every match of the Emerging Matildas Championships will be broadcast live and exclusive from July 15-20.
