DAY ONE REVIEW

The South Adelaide Panthers have put all rivals on notice that they will again be a major threat in the under-16 boys state divsion after a tidy performance at the SA State Junior Championships.

But they might have some company, with an equally impressive effort by the Forestville Eagles creating plenty of interest on the opening night.

After taking out both the under-16 boys state and reserve divisions at last year’s titles, the Panthers were always going to be handful for the Woodville Warriors.

It didn’t take long for the Panthers to assert themselves on the contest as they raced to a 13-point lead at quarter time.

And although the Warriors lifted significantly later in the final quarter to outscore the Panthers, the heat had long gone out of the contest.

The Panthers seeing off the Warriors by 22 points, winning 70-48.
