The Knox Raiders didn’t need any incentive to deliver a statement after missing the finals when they took on the West Adelaide Bearcats in a consolation play-off.

Determined to save face, the Raiders smashed their rivals 88-61 on the back of a brutal second-half demolition.

With only nine points separating the two teams at halftime, the Victorian powerhouse was a much tougher proposition in the back half as it ran away with the contest.

Earlier, the Warwick Senators proved too strong for the Rockingham Flames in the girls’ division, building in momentum as the contest wore on.

Holding a slender five-point lead at halftime, the Senators put the foot down to record a 62-45 victory.

The Bearcats will bookend the action on Friday, going head-to-head with a sharp Perry Lakes Hawks side in the morning.

Canberra’s sides will take the court back-to-back in the middle of the day, with their girls going up against WA hopefuls Lakeside Lightning before the boys take on the Tassie Devils.
