A spirited performance by the Darwin Cyclones has consigned the Warragul Warriors to their second defeat.
The Cyclones refused to surrender against the more favoured Warragul, which was expecting to bounce back from an opening day 65-52 loss.
Yet the team from the Top End refused to yield, displaying maturity above their years by refusing to panic as the contest went down to the wire.
A couple of telling buckets late gave the Cyclones a five-point buffer and the Warriors were unable to reduce the margin, going down 54-49 at the buzzer.

A massive block and steal in the final minutes has proved the catalyst behind South Adelaide pulling off a thrilling victory over a persistent Perry Lakes.
When the Hawks planted a huge three-pointer late in the fourth to tie up the scores momentum seemed with them, but the Panthers showed great resistance to get the job done 50-46.
It had been a see-sawing contest throughout and clearly a standout of the competition so far.
