PREVIEWS

The Basketball SA Junior District League finals will take over the State Basketball Centre on Friday night.

Grand final spots go on the line for the best young ballers in the region, while some clubs dominant the proceedings with teams in most divisions.

KommunityTV will live stream every semi-final match from the top divisions of each age group on Friday night, with the action coming from across six courts.

UNDER-18s

Norwood Flames finished on top of the Under-18 girls with 14 wins from 16 games this season, and averaging almost 65 points per game this season. The Flames have all the momentum going into the finals having not dropped a game since March. Forestville Eagles topped the Under-18 boys top division and have built nicely into the finals with back-to-back wins to finish the regular season. The Eagles will clash with the Eastern Mavericks for a spot in the grand final, while a resurgent South Adelaide Panthers side spearheaded by Koby Moir, Kale Matthews-Hampton and Hugh Strachan will clash with Sturt Sabres in the other final.

UNDER-16s

South Adelaide Panthers have lost one game all season in the Under-16s top division, it’s just that loss came against their semi-final rivals Norwood Flames back in Round 6. The Flames will need to ignite their form after back-to-back losses coming into the finals, including a 10-point loss to the Panthers a fortnight ago. Forestville young gun Lucas Breeding has helped spearhead an undefeated run to the finals for the Eagles, and will prove crucial in their semi-final showdown against West Adelaide Bearcats.

UNDER-14s

The North Adelaide Rockets boys have been a dominant force in the Under-14s this season. The Rockets, spearheaded by young gun Adin Jasic, have averaged more than 91 points per game on their way to an undefeated season. It won’t be a walk in the park in the semi-finals though as they come up against the one side likely to fight fire-with-fire in the South Adelaide Panthers. Like their Under-18 club mates, the Norwood Flames Under-14 girls have taken all before them in 2025. The undefeated Flames, who are coming hot off the heels of a 55-point win in the final round, will clash with the Panthers on Friday night.

UNDER-12s

The Flames Under-12 boys have lit up the courts of the State Basketball Centre this season, with their only blemish being a late-season draw against fellow finalists West Adelaide Bearcats. The draw has done nothing to deter the flashy Flames who enter the finals as the red hot favourites in a semi-final showdown with North Adelaide Rockets. In the Under-12 girls, one win separated an impressive top three sides at the end of the season with the Central District Lions earning a shot at going through to the grand final on goal difference. Forestville, who finished in third, will clash with Norwood in the minor semi-final.
