Stewart, who came into the clash off a five-goal performance last week, booted a game high six goals to take his season tally to 39.
It was his biggest bag of the VAFA season thus far.
The Blues led at every change, looking far too strong for their winless opponents, and broke away after the long break following a spirited first-half from De Le Salle.
They kicked 4.2 to 2.0 in the third-term, extending their lead to 29 points at the final break, before another four goal quarter gave them a strong eight-goal win.
In the reserves clash, it was De Le Salle that won a three-point thriller over University – 8.6 (54) to 7.9 (51).

De La Salle v Uni Blues (Reserves) – 2025 VAFA Round 12
PREVIEW
First year University Blues coach Matt Smith describes his side’s current form as “mirror” like.
The Blues find themselves in a VAFA Premier Men’s relegation scrap, sitting second last on the ladder, with 11 games played this season.
They’ll face the winless De La Salle this weekend as the talented Blues aim to climb out of the relegation zone.
The game will be live streamed on KommunityTV from 2pm on Saturday at Waverley Oval with the reserves match at 11.40am kick starting our coverage.
“We’re playing a bit like a mirror at the moment and what I mean by that is we’re matching the opposition,” Smith said.
“When we play the top sides, we’re matching their standards. Last week against Old Brighton we were really good for example and they’re the top team at the moment.
“Then unfortunately against the sides around us, we’ve got a habit of dropping the standards. We’ve got to find a way to implement the higher quality standards against every team.
“If we start to do that, I think we’re going to find a lot more confidence and hopefully win some more games.”
While they sit half-a-game from safety, with the bottom two in the division set to drop to Premier B, Smith said his side isn’t thinking too far ahead.
This weekend will be the last before a double bye for the VAFA’s Premier grades.
“It’s a big game for us with the obvious that we’re fighting relegation,” he said.
“But we’re still looking forward and not thinking about the ramifications it could have. You can easily get caught up in what’s going on around you but we’re continuing to look forward with how we can progress.”
The Blues will still go in as favourites despite missing a number of key names including Cam O’Shea, Charlie Furphy and Will Carrington.
They’re all expected to return after the bye.
“De La are a young side and they’ve shown they are in every game,” Smith said.
“The key for us will be trying to snuff out their belief early and do everything we can to limit that youthful enthusiasm.”
While the game presents as a winnable one for De La, their coach Nick Hyland is determined for a response after a “deflating” 70-point loss against Collegians last weekend.
“We lowered our colours,” Hyland said.
“In the three weeks prior, we had been trending the right way and ticking the right boxes. We’re determined to see what type of response we’re going to get.
“The vibes have been up at training and I’m confident if we put four quarters together, we can win games of footy.”
Hyland said he wasn’t focusing on his side’s future prospects.
“We just want to be sure we’re getting the preparation right,” he said.
“The longer we can stay in our games, it’s going to give us a better chance. We know our best is good enough, our challenge is sustaining it and not getting hurt on the scoreboard when we do have lapses.”
