Nine teams featuring NT players will be in action when the tournament begins this Sunday across five ovals with more than 1200 footballers set to compete.
The carnival, which will be live streamed exclusively on KommunityTV, will also see the return of some NTFL greats to the scenes of their triumphs.

Nichols Medal winners Iggy Vallejo, Cameron Ilett and Jarred Ilett will be among those in action along with Waratah great and women’s Premier League best and fairest Lisa Roberts.
Matches will be played at The Gardens, TIO and Nightcliff Ovals, with a program highlight being the Indigenous All Stars v Allies men’s and women’s matches on October 3.
For Matt Edgeworth from Queensland it was a return to familiar grounds having played for Wanderers as a 16-year-old 31 years ago.
“To come back to Darwin is a really special thing for the Masters and I think having it up here is really special,” Edgeworth said.
“I’m looking forward to Sunday and getting back up on the field, it’s been a long season for us and there’s a few more games to go.”
His state mate Ashleigh Williamson had also had her NTFL experience umpiring back in the 2010-11 season.
“It’s my first Masters carnival as a player after coaching in Freo last year, but now I’m finally old enough to get on the field,” she said.
“I’ve umpired up here before which was a cool experience and have been playing footy for 28 years so now to get the chance to play for my state is pretty cool.”
AFL Masters president Dean Wallington said the full program of 92 games across four playing days would give the 2500 visitors to the Top End, including the carnival’s oldest player at 82, plenty to enjoy.
“AFL Masters brings together players from a range of ages to engage in safe but full contact games of AFL with a focus on footy for fun,” Wallington said.
“For some that have been playing in colder climates, Darwin provides the opportunity to thaw out and enjoy premium quality ovals.”
People, Sport and Culture minister Jinson Charls welcomed players and supporters to the Top End to enjoy the world-class natural attractions and vibrant local culture.
“It is great to see so many supporters travelling from every corner of Australia, this event will not only showcase our passion for sport but also deliver a boost for our local economy,” he said.
“Sport is such an important part of life in the Northern Territory, and the AFL Masters National Carnival embodies everything we love about it – camaraderie, competition and community.”
