List: NSW Cricket stars of the future, teen guns for 2021/22 season

These are the teenagers and young cricketers tipped to be game changers in NSW this season - and Australia in years to come.

Cricket is teeming with top young talent and NSW has more than its fair share.

They are the young and incredibly gifted cricketers expected to be the big hits of suburban, NSW and Australian junior cricket this season - and hopefully their country at the elite level in coming years.

Some are already known entities in the cricket world and others have long been considered rising stars.

One has a well-known name and an older brother showing him the way to success.

Joel Davies, left, is a star on the rise in NSW cricket.

Joel Davies from Manly Warringah is the brother of Ollie Davies who plays with Sydney Thunder in the BBL and will be a regular in first grade this season as a versatile top order batsmen.

The left-handed batsman from Curl Curl is also a talented bowler.

Northern Districts is a hub for young talent and boasts a trio of youngsters to watch this season in Aidan Cahill, Corey Miller and Lachlan Shaw.

Cahill, from Newcastle, is an all-rounder who has long been under scrutiny.

He has previously represented at the NSW country championships, played for Newcastle at the T20 Regional Bash and was also named in the cricket Australia under 17 squad last season.

Great mates Miller and Shaw are a batter and wicketkeeper batter respectively.

Cricketer Aidan Cahill is another talented youngster in NSW.

Shaw impressed early last season with 107 from 133 balls against Hawkesbury in only his second first grade appearance.

On the same day, on an adjacent Oval, Miller smashed 262 from 248 balls in second grade.

Campbelltown Camden has a head turner in Will Salzmann who is a batting all-rounder and a Ghosts first grade.

He was part of the NSW magenta metropolitan team that won the under 15 nationals and was also named in the 2019 cricket Australia X1 under 17 squad.

Liam Doddrell, here just 12, was identified as a rising star from an early age.

Liam Doddrell, who hails from St Clair and plays for Penrith, is a fast bowler who has been with the NSW Academy since he was 12 and the Penrith club his entire life.

Doddrell has also represented NSW all schools cricket.

Nicholas Toohey from Holgate on the Central Coast is a fast bowler with talent to burn.

Toohey, a right pace bowler, was also in the Under 15 Cricket Australia XI squad and has represented ACT/NSW Country.

These seven young guns have caught the eye of selectors in recent times and have snared 2021/2022 Basil Sellers scholarships..

All seven have been named in the Australian under 19 World Cup preliminary squad ahead of the youth World Cup in the West Indies in January 2022.

They have also made their way through the cricket NSW Pathway Manager and have all represented other NSW metropolitan or ACT/NSW Country at underage national championships in recent times.

Australia's Steven Smith was also identified at a young age as a Basil Sellers Scholar.

These players join 20 previous scholars with this list including Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc, Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healey, Ash Gardiner, Stella Campbell and Usman Khawaja.

Joining the seven males as Basil Sellers scholars in 2021/22 are five female cricketers.

Ebony Hoskin, who hails from Howlong in the Riverina, is a medium fast bowler.

Hosking made a big impact in last years round robin tournament against Victoria and NSW Metro while representing ACT/NSW country.

Gordon all-rounder Lauren Kua from Cherrybrook is another player of great promise and his captain NSW Metro in recent years.

Shivani Mehta has been on the radar for some years now. s.

Another player connected with Northern Districts is all-rounder Shivani Mehta.

Mehta is a regular member of NSW Metro under 19 squad and with the Blues at national championship level.

Jessica Davidson, you hails from Tamworth, is already on her way in the game having being picked up by Sydney Thunder.

She is 18 and also plays the violin.

Joining the all-rounder as a scholarship holder is Bathurst young gun Callee Black.

Just 14, the indigenous left arm fast bowler is also a talented bat.

She has been named Penrith Cricket clubs female player of the year for the past two seasons in a testament to her precocious talent.
