WYONG INSIDE MAIL
RACE 1: 4YO & UP MAIDEN HANDICAP (1300m)
Summer Soiree has shown more than enough ability to suggest she should have broken her maiden by now. Was just pipped by I Am Famous at Warwick Farm last prep and was held up at a crucial time when a nose second to Recruiter first-up at Hawkesbury. Well weighted with the claim and gets her chance. Glory was good on debut when a close second to Lady Memphis over 1000m at Goulburn. Raced wide when fourth to Dubai Warrior at Canberra last time out. Elite Delight ran an improved third at Coffs Harbour last start.
Bet: Summer Soiree to win.
RACE 2: 4YO&UP MAIDEN HANDICAP (1100m)
Prosperous Dragon is a debutant by Russian Revolution from a half-sister to Trusting. Won his first three trials earlier this year before a break. Was a close second to The Pacific in his Hawkesbury heat before sitting out side the leader and winning on the Beaumont. Our Little Star has placed in six of her eight starts including both runs this prep. Nice effort when a neck third to Arriving Home in a Warwick Farm Super Maiden on Dec 4. Believe In Angels is a first starter by Echoes Of Heaven. Battled away for fourth to The Enchanter in his Canterbury heat on Dec 3.
Bet: Prosperous Dragon to win
RACE 3: MIDWAY 3YO MAIDEN PLATE (1100m)
The Eyes Have It was a little unlucky on debut at Scone in January when crowded near the 200m before finishing a neck second. Stepped up to the Group 3 Widden Stakes when fifth to Lady Of Camelot before a third to Seascape at Gosford. Recent trials have been good and can break through. Fly Scotty Fly had trialled very before his debut at Hawkesbury where he was backed into favourite. Was in the gates a long time and subsequently slow to begin and was last all the way. Can bounce back. Stratafy has trialled nicely ahead of his return.
Bet: The Eyes Have It
RACE 4: BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP (1200m)
Miss Cartel was taken on up front when third behind the barnstorming pair of Ces Soirees La and Apache Breeze when resuming at Newcastle on Dec 1. She hasn’t won first-up in four goes but she has a win and second to Chilli Filly from two second-up runs. Drawn ideally and looks a great each-way chance. Llewellyn was very good winning a Class 1 at Kembla by two lengths from Insist before jumping to a BM72 at Warwick Farm when third to Accredited. Will appreciate the drop back in grade. Spicy Hotpot has won both trials smartly ahead of her return and she is a first-up winner.
Bet: Miss Cartel each-way
RACE 5: CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1350m)
Dubai Warrior was a little slow away from his wide gate before storming home for a half-length third to Churchill’s Choice on debut at Scone. Went to 1300m at Canberra where he sat outside the leader on his way to a smart win. Drawn the pole and can go back-to-back. Magical Moments kept improving through her first campaign which ended with a second to Overfull in the Inglis Challenge at Scone. Kicked off this campaign with a handy win from Madam Instrife over 1250m at Newcastle. Correon has been green but showing good ability in winning first-up at Kembla and a close second at Hawkesbury.
Bet: Dubai Warrior to win
RACE 6: CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1000m)
O’Invincible, the daughter of Group 1 winner Viddora, followed her strong trial form with a debut win at Hawkesbury. After racing three-wide on the speed, she showed great fight to wear down Gamp in the 1000m dash. Drawn out and will need a touch of luck. Overtook also trialled well including a Hawkesbury Heat win before leading all the way to a two length debut win from Shropshire Lad over 900m at Newcastle on Nov 27. The runner-up has since won at Scone last Wednesday. Miss Backchat was also a debut winner when a she led from start to finish at Canberra.
Bet: O’Invincible to win
RACE 7: PROVINCIAL BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1600m)
Irish Bliss was scratched from Newcastle last week but looks well placed here from a good gate and the 3kg claim of Braith Nock. Led all the way for a nice win first-up then raced on speed in track record time at Hawkesbury. Can bounce back. Physicist is knocking on the door. Just behind the placegetters here second-up before placing at his next two starts at Hawkesbury and Warwick Farm. The latest was a second to Dr Evil. Verbek has been just behind the placegetters in all three runs this campaign. Is a winner at his only run this track and distance.
Bet: Irish Bliss each-way
