CRANBOURNE

BRAD WATERS (Racenet)

PORT PHILLIP (Race 3, No.1 – $2.90)

Pushed a subsequent Melbourne Cup placegetter all the way in the Bendigo Cup. That’s impeccable form for a Benchmark 84 race.

Value bet: BELLINGER (Race 9, No.5 – $8)

STEPHEN BRASSEL (National Racing Editor)

BRAYDEN STAR (Race 6, No.7 – $4)

Bolted in at Salisbury before being shipped to Australia and his two jumpouts at Cranbourne have been outstanding.

Value bet: RANTING (Race 8, No.5 – $13)

GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun)

MIDWEST (Cranbourne, Race 8, No.8 – $2.90)

Ultra consistent four-year-old who never runs a bad race and can win this first-up

Value bet: BUFFALO RIVER (Cranbourne, Race 7, No.4 – $15)

SIMON MOY (NewsRacing)

KISSINGER (Race 3, No.3 – $2.30)

Benefits from a huge weight swing when narrowly beaten by topweight last time. Should be able to turn the tables.

Value bet: CROSSWINDS (Race 4, No.1 – $11)

NEWCASTLE

RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph)

GLOBAL AUSBRED (Race 6, No.7 – $4)

Global Ausbred won three of his five starts last campaign including over the Newcastle 1870m before resuming with a very good fourth in the Silver Eagle. Global Ausbred then ran right up to that effort when he chased home boom galloper Waterford at Rosehill two weeks ago. He won third-up last campaign.

Value bet: SINDACATO (Race 10, No.9 – $9)

MATT JONES (Daily Telegraph)

WAIHAHA FALLS (Race 9, No.1 – $2.70)

He’s got the class on these and the right barrier to get the job done. The claim gets him in here with a winnable weight and he’s looking very hard to beat off a luckless fresh run in the Sydney Stakes.

Value bet: TONY BE (Race 10, No.7 – $11)

ADAM SHERRY (Sportsman)

GLOBAL AUSBRED (Race 6, No.7 – $4)

He was terrific first-up when fourth to Vilana in the Silver Eagle over 1300m at big odds and followed up with a game second to Waterford over 1500m at Rosehill last start. Scored a nice win over 1870m here last campaign and will appreciate stepping up to a similar distance here.

Value bet: ONE AYE (Race 10, No.6 – $13)

ASCOT

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Racing News Editor)

DEVOTED (Race 9, No.10 – $2.10)

Needs to win to make the field for the Railway Stakes, where he is currently the second favourite. Went to the line restrained last start and hopefully the breaks goes his way this time.

Value bet: IRONCLAD (Cranbourne Race 7, No.7 – $10)
